NAVIGATING GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY: A REGIONAL ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF WEST NUSA TENGGARA FROM 2018-2023
Abstract
This study examines the dynamics of regional economic development in the West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) with a focus on the transition of key sectors and the integration of economic development with environmental sustainability. The main goal of this research is to identify leading and potential sectors in NTB that can support the regional economy sustainably using Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and Klassen Typology analysis methods. The analysis reveals that the agricultural sector, especially corn production, has significant potential but is accompanied by the dilemma of land use which negatively impacts the environment, such as increased flood risks due to the conversion of forests into agricultural land. The results of this study can serve as a basis for formulating comprehensive economic development policies and strategies that focus not only on economic growth but also on environmental sustainability and resilience aspects.
